Club House improvements

Dear Members:

Within our plan of continuous improvement of the Club facilities, we inform you of several actions that we will carry out in the coming days as we believe it is necessary that members know in advance

We would like take this opportunity to apologize for the inconvenience that may cause in the daily activity.

  • The first of these actions, which we have already started, is the complete cleaning of the club, carried out industrially by a specialized company in the sector, with the aim of recovering the appearance, or even improving it, that we had before the damage caused by the “Calima” storms suffered by the whole area last March. The work began on the 11th May and will continue until it is completely finished.

  • The second action will be carried out from the 23rd of May and we estimate that it will be finished around the 27th of May, consists of the painting of the Club House which on this occasion the color chosen will be completely white.

  • The third action will be the decoration of the members' terrace, by placing ornamental plants, which we estimate will be in place between the 20th and 25th of May.

  • The fourth has already been completed, but it is important that you all know about it, and it has been the installation of acoustic panels in the restaurant on the upper floor in order to improve the noise level and make the members' dining room more comfortable.

We hope that these new improvements will satisfy  our Members and we will continue with the further improvements which we consider are necessary to make our Club the best it can be.

Ladies Competition Sponsored by our Solheim ambassador

Words from our Solheim Cup ambassador Rosaleen Cunningham at the awards ceremony.

Firstly I would like to thank our Lady Captain Leona and her committee for all the help and support they have given me in organising this event.  I hope you all had a wonderful day and I also want to congratulate the winning USA team Very well done

As you know Finca Cortesin will host the  Solheim Cup, which will take place from 18 to 24 September 2023

As the Ambassador of the Solheim Cup in Guadamina I decided to sponsor today to promote this event among all our ladies

This competition between America and Europe is the female equivalent of the Ryder Cup.   This is the first time it is being held in Spain.  We are very lucky that it is being held in a course in Andalucia very close to our club.

In 2023 the club will host the Solheim Cup here for one week and we will all have the  opportunity to take a photo with the cup.  For that week we are planning a Solheim competition in which Men, Ladies and Juniors can participate.

The Solheim Cup is the most prestigious competition for womens teams on the international golf calendar.  I hope and wish that many of us and our friends will travel to Finca Cortesin to support the 12 best European lady golfers and enjoy the  exciting battle against the 12 best players from the USA.

Thank you ‘Lets Go Girls’

The President of RFGA visits our Club

Last Tuesday 15th I had the pleasure to receive in our club the president of the Real Federación de Golf de Andalucía Mr. Pablo Mansilla.

In this meeting I had the opportunity to inform about the improvement and restructuring processes that we are implementing in Guadalmina, which affect several areas of the Club.

Pablo has shown his support for the initiatives which will undoubtedly improve the social life of all members.

The harmony between both institutions is total and has been ratified in this meeting.

Thank you very much, Pablo, for your visit and see you soon.

Manuel Muñoz

Temporary suspension Bridge Monday and Friday

Dear Members

After a trial period of four months, with the Bridge Tournament Director Roy Mono, I must sadly report that Roy has informed us of his decision to suspend this activity.  This is due to the small number of our members who attended the Monday and Friday Bridge, which did not justify his efforts.

The Board of Directors improved the facilities, providing a TV to be used with live scoring software, improving the appearance of the room and thanks to the efforts made by some members, also the decoration.  But the truth is that there are not enough members to maintain this activity.

The Bridge Room will remain open for those members who wish to use it, expanding its use to other card disciplines, such as Canasta, Mus ... etc..

With respect to bridge, the necessary material to play a game, betting boxes, cards ... etc. must be provided by the players.

The Board of Directors will continue working to find a solution, within the policy of the use of the facilities: exclusively for members, or for their guests upon payment of the guest fees published by the Board.
