The Real Club de Golf Guadalmina is pleased to inform its Members of the recent Resolution issued by the Directorate-General for Sports Systems and Values of the Regional Government of Andalusia, by which Croquet has been formally recognised as an official sporting discipline. The resolution, dated 20 October 2025, represents a significant step forward for a sport whose presence has expanded notably throughout the region in recent years.
This recognition places Croquet on a firm institutional footing in Andalusia and aligns it with the regulatory framework already adopted in other autonomous communities.
According to the documentation released by the Regional Government, the decision is based on several key factors: the demonstrated social and sporting presence of Croquet, the existence of a structured competitive calendar, its sustained expansion across multiple provinces and its growing visibility in both regional and national media.
Importantly, the Real Club de Golf Guadalmina is expressly mentioned among the Andalusian entities where the sport is practised on a regular basis, contributing to the evidence of its regional consolidation.
Communication from the Spanish Croquet Federation
In addition to the official resolution, our President has received a formal communication from the Spanish Croquet Federation, confirming the scope of this recognition and acknowledging the contribution of Andalusian clubs to the sport’s development. The Federation notes that clubs not yet registered in the Andalusian Sports Register (RAED) may wish to consider doing so should they intend to participate in official competitions under the newly established regulatory framework.
A Further Boost to the Social Life of the Club
Croquet has, for many years, been a sport enjoyed by a devoted group of our Members: a discipline that is strategic, social and perfectly in keeping with the character of the Real Club de Golf Guadalmina. Its official recognition in Andalusia now opens the door to new opportunities for sporting development, the organisation of events and the strengthening of shared social spaces, reinforcing the Club’s ongoing commitment to activities that nurture our community and contribute to its long-term vitality.
