Progress on the restoration of the buggy service.
Following the fire that occurred on 6 March in the Club’s buggy storage facility at Real Club de Golf Guadalmina, the Club has been working continuously and in a coordinated manner from the very first moment to manage the situation and move forward with restoring normal operations as soon as possible.
Immediate response
Within the first 24 hours, electricity and water services were restored at the Caddy Master facilities, allowing a significant part of the Club’s operations to remain functional from the outset.
At the same time, the claim was formally opened with Reale, our insurance provider, together with their local representative, Mr. Javier Pérez-Ximénez of Galpe Mediat, and all necessary steps for the assessment of the incident were initiated immediately.
Assessment and investigation
In the days following the incident, the Scientific Police and the insurance company’s appointed assessor carried out the relevant inspections in the affected area.
The point of origin of the fire has been identified; however, there is still no official confirmation regarding its exact cause, which remains under investigation.
Technical management
In parallel, the necessary technical works have begun for debris removal and the management of affected materials, including the specific handling of lithium batteries, which requires a specialised procedure.
These actions have been carried out with the greatest possible efficiency, avoiding administrative delays and allowing progress to be made in line with the expected timelines.
Claim process
The process with the insurance company is progressing in a structured manner, covering:
- The affected facilities
- The buggies under leasing agreements
- The buggies owned by Members
In this latter case, the Club is managing each file individually, with the aim of facilitating the process and supporting Members throughout.
As of today, the general claim file has been completed, together with the individual files for each Member, including all the documentation provided. Only one Member’s documentation remains outstanding.
Current situation
At present, the main constraint in restoring the service lies in the need to secure both a sufficient fleet of buggies and the appropriate infrastructure for their storage and charging.
Current capacity is limited, which makes it impossible to reinstate the service under normal conditions immediately.
Line of action
The Club is working on the reconstruction of the buggy hangar with increased capacity and efficiency, as well as on the incorporation of a new fleet of electric buggies.
Estimated timeline
Although timelines are subject to various technical and administrative factors, current projections indicate an estimated period of three to four months to fully restore operations.
