Yesterday, Sunday 12th October, the Real Club de Golf Guadalmina once again experienced one of those truly memorable days that define its very essence — camaraderie, sportsmanship and vibrant Club life.
The traditional Ladies vs Gentlemen Tournament brought together 74 players in a spirited competition between two teams united by one simple goal: to enjoy golf in the finest possible atmosphere.
The Gentlemen began the day with a slight numerical advantage (35 against 39 Ladies), yet from the very first tee the Ladies showed remarkable skill and a healthy determination to make the most of the contest.
In the end, it was the Ladies’ Team who emerged victorious, with an impressive average of 30.97 points, compared with 29.68 points for the Gentlemen.
Among the standout performances, Anne O’Keeffe shone brightly, taking the top honours among the Ladies with 41 points, and also securing the Nearest to the Pin prize on the 11th hole with a superb shot that finished just 2.29 metresfrom the flag.
For the Gentlemen, Lorenzo Gil Ortega produced the best round of the day with 40 points, also claiming the Nearest to the Pin on the same hole, leaving his ball 3.40 metres from the target.
Beyond the scorecards, the day was a perfect reflection of what makes Real Club de Golf Guadalmina so special — friendly rivalry, shared enjoyment and that unmistakable sense of belonging to a Club with true character.
After play, the convivial spirit continued at the Clubhouse, where laughter, lively post-round tales and a splendid “paella” prepared by the Club’s talented F&B Team, set the tone for a warm and joyful afternoon. Glasses were raised to celebrate the Champions — and to toast the pleasure of being part of a Club that feels, above all, like family.
Because at the Real Club de Golf Guadalmina, every gathering is a celebration of golf, friendship and the enduring life of the Club.
Congratulations to our Champions — the Ladies of Guadalmina!
