Fabulous Angel Hidalgo wins Alps Tour Q School Final and earns the card

Victory for the player of Guadalmina in the final of Alps Tour Q School Final, thus achieving full category for the coming season. And his first title as a pro.

The Marbella player did not lose the top of the leaderboard at any time during the 3 days. He began with a great 69 in a windy day, then came a 67 and closed his great week with a spectacular 65 (-7) free of bogeys.

Now, knowing that he already has a tour to play next season, he faces with guarantees and confidence the last big challenge of the year : getting the Asian Tour card at Q School Final (26-30 December, Thailand).

Another step forward in the right direction. Bravo, Angel!

Congratulate Juan Carlos Osorio for recovering the card thanks to a magnificent 4th place.

Captains Day, Nations Cup and Past Captains Day

It was a month of October full of very special days, but 3 of them deserve a singular mention.

The Captain's, in which the captains of the male and female section organized a fantastic day on October 13th, with a mixed fourball in the South Course, including gala dinner (prepared with great care by Dantonelas Group). An opera singer culminated the celebration with a brilliant performance. The victory was for the couple formed by Pedro Ángel Alonso and Begoña Urcelay.

The Spanish team was the winner of the historic Nations Cup, and Marguerite Jordan (2017 captain) won the 18th edition of the Cup of the past Captains.

Our most sincere congratulations to the winners and, of course, to all the members that participated, because thanks to you these emblematic Cups are still celebrated year after year. Members: You are Guadalmina!

Laura Gómez wins the Santander Ladies Tour in Neguri, her first professional victory

The young professional Laura Gómez, member of Guadalmina since 7 years old, wins the 8th tournament of 2018 Santander Ladies Tour after 3 holes of play off.

The experts say that the first victory always costs more, and how could it be otherwise, for Laura has not been an exception.

Thanks to a very solid first round of 70 strokes (-2) and a start of the 2nd brilliant, Laura was dominating throughout the day. She came to par 5 of 18 with a shot ahead of her closest pursuer, Rochelle Morris, and after committing three putts to finish, it was necessary to go out to the play off. And after 3 holes of maximum emotion, Laura took the coveted title.

Our most sincere congratulations on behalf of the entire team of the Real Club de Golf Guadalmina. We are very proud. More wins are coming!

Laura is placed 4th in the ranking of the Santander Tour. Next stop, Norba Golf (Cáceres).

Ángel Hidalgo advances to the 2nd stage of the European Tour Q School

Golf Club Bogogno has once again hosted the first section of the European Tour Q School. There was our amateur Ángel Hidalgo, debuting in the fearsome school. It began as a rocket with rounds of 65 (-7) and 65 and leading its section in its equator. "I was already hitting the ball pretty well few days ago, and the proof is that I failed only one green in the first 36 holes," said Ángel.

Things got a little tricky when Angel delivered a 75 shot card (+3) on the 3rd day. It had only 4 shots of margin with respect to the virtual cut (the first 24 gonna reach the 2nd stage) and "the nerves appeared, but luckily I started strong on the 4th day with 3 birdies in 5 holes".

In the end, 65-65-75-69 were enough to finish in a comfortable way in the Top 24 (finished tied 7th). Goal accomplished.

The next stage of the q school is played in Spain, simultaneously and by lottery, in Desert Springs, Alenda Golf, Panoramica and Las Colinas, from November 2nd to 5th. Hidalgo has not planned to play any competition to date. Training, training and training!

Congratulations!! Good luck and let's go to the final!

Bronze medal for the Spanish team in the World Championship

Last week we told you in this news that Ángel Hidalgo was going to represent Spain in what was probably going to be his last big amateur tournament. And how do the big guys say goodbye? Like a champions.

The Andalusian Ángel Hidalgo and Víctor Pastor and Alejandro del Rey from Madrid have achieved bronze in the World Teams Championship with a cumulative of -36, just 3 shots behind Denmark and 2 behind the US. It is the 4th Spanish team in the history of this competition that enters the medal table, after the bronzes of 1996 and 2014 and the silver of 2004.

Although Angel has contributed very much in the 3rd place of Spain with rounds of PAR, -3, -6 and 1 under par, the big star was Alejandro del rey with a spectacular result of -23, thus achieving the individual victory.

If you want to know how the boys felt after the day, watch this video.

We do not forget the great week of Álvaro Mueller-Baumgart (5th) in the Spanish International Under 18 held in La Cañada, the 7th position of Azahara Muñoz in the French Open and the Top 20 achieved by Noemi Jiménez also in France.

5th consecutive title for Guadalmina in the Interclubes de Andalucía Infantil & Cadete

Neither Chronos, the Greek God of weather, could avoid the 5th consecutive victory of Real Club de Golf in the Interclub Championship of Andalusian "Infantil" and "Cadete".

Baviera Golf and the weather (it had to be suspended the 1st day due to storm) were witnesses of the 10th title of Guadalmina in the history of this competition. What an amazing feat.

The A team of the Real Club de Golf Guadalmina, formed by Alejandra Sanchez de la Fuente, Nicolás Barclay, Pablo Hidalgo and Marc Waller, with an accumulated of 149 shots, claimed the victory with 9 shots of advantage over his closest rival, also a team from the School (Jonah Fernandes, Mateo Ruiz, Alberto Sanchez de la Fuente and Rebeca Fernandez).

In addition, Jonah and Mateo carded the best round of the tournament (72).

Congratulations guys, we are very proud of all of you.

Many thanks to the Royal Andalusian Golf Federation for organizing for the 18th time this competition, one of the funniest of the annual calendar, to the parents for your unconditional support, to Baviera Golf for being the perfect host and, of course, to all the boys and girls who participated, you are a trully example for the rest of old players.

Check the final results, here.

Noemi Jiménez and Ángel Hidalgo, among the Sports Acknowledgments of San Pedro Alcántara

The 3rd Sports Recognition of San Pedro Alcántara took place last thursday in the auditorium of San Pedro's Bulevar. The event was attended by the deputy mayor, Rafael Piña; the delegate councilor of Sports, Javier Mérida; the Treasury, Manuel Osorio; Employment, Cristóbal Garre, and other members of the corporation.

In total there were 39 recognitions to sport delivered in both individual and collective category, distinguishing between recognitions for achievements of the 2017/2018 season and for sporting career. Our golfers Ángel Hidalgo and Noemí Jiménez were two of the most successful. Angel has once again conquered the Absolute Spain Championship and the Andalusia Cup, while Noemi premiered her international palmares, conquering the LETAS VP Bank Ladies Open and a tournament of the Andalusian professional circuit.

Both are playing important tournaments this week; Noemi has the Lacoste Ladies French Open (tournament corresponding to the Ladies European Tour), where she will coincide with the also sampedreña Azahara Muñoz, winner in 2013 and 2014 when the French Open was played in Chantaco. And Angel will be in Ireland for the dispute of his last Men's World Amateur Team Championship.

Let the successes continue!
