On 18 August, the Real Club de Golf Guadalmina held a new edition of its Canasta Charity Tournament, an event that once again brought together many Members in an atmosphere of friendship, solidarity and commitment.
This month, the presentation of the €7,000 cheque to Fundación Contigo became official. This foundation is devoted to research into women’s cancer. The symbolic handover was attended by Paloma Occhi, Pilarcho Cubillo e Ignacio del Cuvillo, representing the organisers and the Club.
Fundación Contigo Contra el Cáncer de la Mujer was founded under the leadership of Dr Javier Cortés and his close collaborators, with the aim of promoting clinical and translational research projects that advance early diagnosis, the development of innovative treatments, and personalised care for patients. You can discover more about the Foundation by clicking here.
The Foundation funds projects throughout Spain, awards annual research grants and collaborates with scientific teams to ensure that results have a real impact on people’s lives. Its activities are entirely national (100 % within Spain), and all donations are devoted exclusively to research support, as confirmed by Fundación Lealtad.
The Real Club de Golf Guadalmina wishes to express its deepest gratitude to all those who took part and collaborated in this initiative, whose generosity made this remarkable achievement possible.
At Guadalmina, our sporting spirit is also measured by the ability to help others.
